“Woe to me that I dwell in Meshech, that I live among the tents of Kedar! Too long have I lived among those who hate peace. I am a man of peace; but when I speak, they are for war.” (Psalms 120:5–7)
Too long have we lived as aliens in a foreign land, too long among people of lying lips and violent hearts. We long for the gates of the New Jerusalem, the shalom that you have prepared for us there.
May our hearts yearn for our homeland. May we never feel at home away while we live in Meshech and Kedar, as we wander the banks of the rivers of Babylon.
Heal our world. Bring peace to our nations. Let every knee bow and every tongue confess.
Come, Lord Jesus.
